There are angels among us

I have discovered living, breathing angels in the form of our elders. In many countries, elders are respected for their age and their knowledge. Unfortunately here in America many of us feel that it is okay to place our elders in community care. We convince ourselves that we are doing the very best for them; that we don’t really have the time to give them the care that they rightfully deserve. Then the inevitable happens and we make more excuses to cover our initial excuses.

Fortunately some people are figuring out that our aging population is growing beyond the scope of the nursing homes and available care facilities out there. What is great is that there are people, like me and Jackie that are willing to care for the elderly so that they can stay in their homes. It actually costs the government less for caretakers to care for these individuals than to lock them away and forget them in some care facility. Besides that, they are happier in their own homes and feel much more love and companionship.

This business of mine is my dream job. I have certainly proven to myself and those that I care for that With Age Comes Respect! I have also discovered that angels are among us and come in the form of that which we expect the least from.
