Happy Birthday Audrey

On Sunday, Audrey will reach a very big milestone….her 90th birthday! On Wednesday we celebrated with her neighbors. She received lovely flowers and cards. We had a celebration that included roast beef sandwiches, homemade mashed potatoes and gravy and angel food cake slices topped with strawberries and whipped cream. Fun was had by all!

It is so exciting to witness the joy that is so easily shared with an older person. The more time that I get to spend with Audrey, the better I feel about myself. This career that I have developed is such a loving gift. If only others were fortunate enough to discover that love and giving are the very best gifts of all!

I am grateful for each day that I am able to serve. My heart swelled when I saw Audrey smile over the simplest of gifts that she received. My son Drew crafted Audrey a tree made of wire. Audrey and I share a love for trees and this small token is one that she remembers with fondness.

With Age Comes Respect and I hope you realize Audrey that I love and respect you very much. I am grateful that our paths crossed and that our friendship has developed into a bond that is so strong. I thank you for the gift of you and I wish you many more birthdays to come!DSC_0016
