Setting my sites high

This week and the first two days of next week will be all that I will have to prepare my seniors hearts and homes for the holidays. I certainly want to do all that is physically possible to ensure that they have the best Christmas ever!

I am starting with cleaning their homes so that they are nothing less than presentable in case any family members just happen to stop by. Since Christmas is in the middle of the week this year, it is hard for some people to travel for just one day (as many businesses are Scrooge-like

and only giving Christmas day off), but we will see. If family is in the near vicinity, they may have a short time to visit with their elders!

When my grandmother was in an assisted living facility, I always made it my duty to show her love and respect by cooking a meal for her to share with her fellow residents. Number one, it was nice to give the owner of the facility a day off, and it was truly remarkable to witness the realization dawning on those that had Alzheimer’s Disease – including my grandma! It was always the greatest gift I received. Now I can do that for others – and I love it just as much!

So, keeping with my mantra to display that With Age Comes Respect, I will do what I can to physically display my deep-seeded commitment to those that I care for!
