Seniors ordinarily live on a fixed income that derives from social security, perhaps investments, and retirement plans or pensions or a combination of these if they planned well for their future. But, the fact remains that some of these are based on current economy and sad as it is, when the money is gone, it is gone.
Too many seniors have to get a part-time job just in order to survive these days. When the recent stock market crashed, it took with it many a sound investment made by many a senior.
Budgets are now commonplace for senior citizens. When this should actually be the time of their lives, it is a frightening time where they must cut back. This causes a lot of stress and strain and some very worrisome nights.
That is why I embrace the notion that With Age Comes Respect and I attempt to circumvent any sort of financial activity; helping out where I can (although they probably have much more money than I do!), I bring leftover food, do some laundry at my home and in many situations only charge mileage on my own time.
I am committed to senior citizens and to people in general. I want people to know that they are worth the effort and that when life hands us lemonade, we are going to have the tastiest glass possible!
