Caregivers or life enders?

In the Chicago Tribune today, there was an article about caregivers helping their clients die. Whether or not I think that sometimes, like my daddy says, doctors are helping people live longer, not better, is beside the point. I am still Catholic and know that I could never help anyone end their life – that is not my job!

My job is to give dignity, respect and love. My job is to help and to do. My job is to show my clients that With Age Comes Respect. It is not to help someone meet their maker by giving them an overdose of some drug!

I love my clients like they were my own family and I could never hurt my own family members thus I could not hurt my clients. I am really happy that the people I have chosen to represent my company Time To Care feel the same way that I do. I don’t think I could have anyone working for me that felt any differently.

I am not certain what it takes to get it in your head that you are above life and could help someone to end their own life, but I guess some people know what it takes – or at least they must think that they do!
