A couple last stops before the holiday (Posted late on 12/28 from 12/24)

Today I had to stop by to get my timesheet signed at one client and then drop off Christmas treats to another client. The first was confused as to why I was not staying while the latter was just happy to get some homemade goodies – we did some planning for the New Year. It was good to see them one more time before this blessed holiday begins tonight!
I am happy when my clients are happy to see me. I love to see each and every one of them, too. The holidays may not only be lonely for the elderly, but can actually be lonely for the caregivers, too, because the best of us truly care about those that we take care of. If a caregiver is lacking family of their own, these individuals actually become family for them.
I am fortunate (as are my clients) that they do have family that pays great attention to them. They are all way above the general population of elderly people that are ignored and forgotten – whether they have family still alive or not. Many times that family pretends that their elderly relatives no longer exist.
That is what I am here for though – to show every one of the elderly that I meet (client or not) that With Age Comes Respect.

About melissalstoneburner

Melissa is the proud mother of two boys. She also like to take care of all of her elderly clients as though they were her actual flesh and blood, too. Melissa began her elderly care business, Time to Care, in August, 2012. Since then, she has successfully seen several clients through life and onto the next life. She writes about what she knows, what she doesn't know, and reveals all the research in between. She believes that elderly care is the best thing she has ever done in life; second only to being a mother!
