Cancellations are not easy

My job is not like most jobs. If I don’t work, I don’t get paid. I am so busy most of the time that it doesn’t matter, but when it comes down to brass tacks, it really does. It is not like I make hundreds of thousands of dollars. I really make only enough to exist. Like I have said many times, it is not about how much I make but how well I do for my clients. The only issue is that I do really need to make enough to keep doing what I do.
This week alone I have had two days of cancellations; last week I had one, too. Now I totally understand that elders get sick; believe me, I really do! The fact remains, however, that this is a business. I think I will have to incorporate some new rules soon to protect myself. Of course I will take into consideration that With Age Comes Respect, but I do have to protect myself and my business as well. I just have to hope that families understand and accept that because I would never cheat anyone!
I have to pick myself up by my bootstraps today and get on with my day. While cancellations are not easy, I know I am doing everything possible that I can for everyone. I know in the end that my rewards will come!
