Philosophizing with my oldest elder (Posted late on 06/19 from 06/18)

Again this morning I cooked, cleaned and did laundry for my couple that I tend to. While I love to create a sense of cleanliness, orderliness and peace in a household for my clients, my biggest thrill each day is to visit my ‘smilingest’ client. She is the one I long to take care of.

The weather was perfect today, so we sat out in her family’s backyard (which is lovely and peaceful if I have to say so myself!), and we gazed through a Time Life book of their greatest photographs ever taken. Then we just sat quietly together philosophizing over the height of trees and their sheer grandeur.

I tell you, this woman can make even a helicopter tree seed from a Maple tree look like a miracle in everyone’s eyes! If only there were more people – young and old alike – that had her same pleasant, glass-half-full demeanor, this world would be much less troubled!

And it is not as if she has never had any trouble in her life. Just like all of us, she has had hardships and disappointments, losses and other troubles, but she had her constant belief in our Lord and Savior and it helped her to go on. In fact, she believes so heavily and trusts so much that she realizes that those around her, those that love her, show her that With Age Comes Respect!
