Worried about my own dad’s health and well-being! (Posted late on 06/22 from 06/21)

While I am very proud to be an elderly caregiver for other people’s relatives, I also want to ensure that my own parents are well taken care of. This weekend, I am not so sure!

I heard from my mom that dad hurt his back again. Not only that, but he has not eaten for a couple of days and is physically ill as well. Needless to say, I am breaking my rules of engagement about not worrying, and I am worrying! After all, he is my daddy!

I really wanted him to go to the hospital this past weekend, but, like many men, he is quite stubborn and wants to wait until Monday. Needless to say, his Father’s Day is not going to be the best day for him! I really wish that there was something I could do from here – about 180 miles away, but I am afraid there is nothing!

So I will pray. I will pray for my dad and I will pray for all of the other fathers out there; wishing that their Father’s Day 2015 is better than my poor dad’s Father’s Day.

I sure wish I could take it all away daddy! I would if I could – and give you the day that you deserve – not the crappy one you are having! I wish so bad that I could take care of you and show you that With Age Comes Respect.
