Wondering how my client took to moving (Posted late on 06/24 from 06/23)

Well, today is the day that my longest running client moved into the Convalescent Center. I could not help but think of her all day long!

I know that she is adaptable, but ever since I was a small child and witnessed how people were ignored in nursing homes, I cannot help but be concerned. Now, I realize that so much has changed over the past 40 years, but that memory rings true. I think that is why I am doing this business and doing it to the best of my ability because I believe that every person deserves dignity – especially the elderly. That is why my motto is With Age Comes Respect!

Last Friday when I left her, knowing that that would be the very last time that she was in my care, a part of my heart broke so hard that I cried all the way home. My son was there to greet me, knowing how distressed I was going to feel and he hugged me until the tears stopped. I truly love woman and will desperately miss her kindness and love. I promised to visit her – even though she did not know that she was moving.

So, today, on that fateful day, I am thinking of her and loving her as I always have and wondering if she will miss me, too!
