Carrot cake for the weekend

So, to end this mixed emotion week as a caregiver, I want to leave my clients with something to remember me by….a homemade carrot cake! I am hoping that this little something-something will help my clients to taste a bit of the love that goes into each bite; from my heart to theirs.

I believe that being a caregiver is one of life’s most important ‘jobs’ shall we say. It is right up there with being a mother and a wife (at least I got two out of the three right!). It is all about showing your elderly clients that With Age Comes Respect.

This small task is so easy for me to imagine – and I get to do something that I love to do and that is to create something yummy in my kitchen that I know will be enjoyed! I gain so much pleasure from doing just that!

In addition, I know that what my clients are eating may not be the healthiest choice, but it is so much healthier than buying something pre-packaged from a store. That is just another reason that I love this position that I have put myself in. I get to ensure stability, safety and health from my own perspective; friendship is just a bonus all around!

Melissa began her elderly care business, Time to Care, in August, 2012. Since then, she has successfully seen several clients through life and onto the next life. She writes about what she knows, what she doesn't know, and reveals all the research in between.
