Facing life one day at a time – (Posted late on 12/16 from 12/14)

It is the holiday season. It is December. It is dark early and light later. It is the prime time for seniors to sundown – especially those seniors suffering from Dementia or Alzheimer’s disease!

This is not an easy life. Ask any one of the many aging individuals in your neighborhood, church, family or elsewhere. As my dad often suggests, ‘Doctors are helping us to live longer, just not necessarily better.” Most seniors would agree with this statement as they are living proof to its dire meaning.

Christmas is the season for love, but it is also the season for loneliness, despair and outright panic over what has to be done and what has not yet been completed. It is a very difficult time for the elderly!

That is where I vow to come in! I want to show each and every one of these individuals that I am there for them, will help them, and will be there when the holidays are all said and done! It is what I do! It is what I love and what I want to continue for even more individuals!

I just have to show each of these wonderful individuals that no matter what time of year, I want to show them that With Age Comes Respect!

Melissa is the proud mother of two boys. She also like to take care of all of her elderly clients as though they were her actual flesh and blood, too. Melissa began her elderly care business, Time to Care, in August, 2012. Since then, she has successfully seen several clients through life and onto the next life. She writes about what she knows, what she doesn't know, and reveals all the research in between. She believes that elderly care is the best thing she has ever done in life; second only to being a mother!
